Reincarnation (poem)

Merrily, merrily, round and round
Memorized, hypnotized, up and down,
Through the vision, through the voice,
Through the buzz of windup toys,
Swung around in endless dance,
Hooked & lulled by dreamless trance,
We plow deeper through the grooves,
Polishing familiar moves,
‘Till the endless masquerade
Plucks us from the role we played.
And again, when tables turn,
We forget all that we learn,
Rise again with dawn divine,
Sampling familiar wine.
